We were so grateful for Dr. Roach-twice! Buster, our English Bulldog, suffered from maybe every typical Bulldog ailments, but most frustrating was heart trouble. When it was time to let him go Dr. Roach was kind, thoughtful, professional and, gentle and we think she felt as sad as we did. We were so fortunate not to have to bring an already failing dog into the vet’s office for our final goodbyes.
Two years later when we sadly arrived at a dead end with our precious Corgi, CJ, Dr. Roach helped us give her a quiet and gentle goodbye in a comfortable setting. Dr. Roach had guided as we fought a frustrating battle with IMHA. She helped us through blood transfusions, drug therapies, even a bout of pancreatitis. With every turn and with each treatment we were all hopeful. All along the way we felt like she was walking in our shoes with us. When it came obvious there was nothing more we could try, and it became unfair to subject CJ to any more trying, Dr. Roach was honest and compassionate. And again, I truly believe felt the loss as acutely as we did.
Losing a pet is losing a member of the family. Dr. Roach’s respect for and understanding of that unique love between pets and human family is remarkable and so very comforting when you need it the most. She truly walks with you.
